Will You Suffer From Quitting Smoking Side Effects?
Anyone who attempts to stop smoking is going to suffer from quitting smoking side effects, this is unavoidable. The side effects that you get will be both physical and psychological. It is the psychological side effects that you must deal with the most. If you do that you will be psychologically stronger and a lot more capable of dealing with the physical side effects of quitting smoking. The first psychological tool that you can use against the side effects of quitting smoking is to make a list of the overall benefits of quitting smoking.
The first benefit of quitting smoking is obviously health related. There are so many different health problems that you can "give" yourself by smoking. All of these health risks can be mitigated by stopping smoking. You will also feel cleaner and fresher, your teeth will be white, and you will not be treated like a social pariah every time you need your next dose of nicotine. The side effects to quitting smoking are a small price to pay for the health benefits that you are going to gain.
I can only really talk about myself when I talk about the quitting smoking side effects. This is because everyone is going to have different experiences. There are general physical side effects of quitting smoking which are felt to a degree by different people, both the psychological side effects when quitting smoking can be quite different and subtle. For instance, the physical side effects that I felt were slight nausea, headaches, sweating, mild shakes, and I put on a few pounds. The psychological aspects were a lot more profound. That's first I felt like I was almost going through a grieving process for the significant loss that I felt because I could no longer have a cigarette. No matter how much I told myself that I was really benefiting myself in the long run, I still couldn't shake the horrible feeling.
Some of the things that I did to overcome the side effects when quitting smoking were to write down a list of the times when I craved a cigarette the most. For me this was immediately after I finished my evening meal, or any meal, first thing in the morning, when I sat into my car to drive to work, and when I spoke on the telephone. With this in hand I was able to put my own plan of action in place to try and avoid the times or at least mitigate their impact on my life. Something else I did was to join a tai chi class. This enabled me to not only get myself into a more relaxed and positive state, it gave me the tools to deal with any stress that I was feeling.
If I was to give you one piece of advice, and it's a piece of advice I hear a lot when it comes to the best ways to give up smoking, take one day at a time. Your cravings will only last for a few seconds. All you have to do is control yourself for those few seconds and then get on with what you were doing and forget the cravings. If you do this every time you get a craving, eventually your cravings will hit you less and less often. Quitting smoking side effects are real but they can be overcome and you will eventually be free.

The negative effects of the tar in cigarettes is what people want to avoid, to improve their health and those around them. They can enjoy the high they get from the nicotine in cigarettes without the tar, by using electronic cigarettes.
