Sticky Back film or window film is great to use for different design effects on windows. With a little creativity you can totally transform the look of a room by using this type of paper; either by covering an entire window or by putting cutouts on it. There are many different effects you can obtain using this paper.

Geometric Cutout Designs: Amazing designs can be made by simply cutting out different geometric shapes from the film. You may need to use some sort of stencil and make the cutouts before applying the sticky back plastic designs, but it really is not that difficult to do. It often looks best in plain, frosted film. You can cut out squares with one square inside the other till the smallest square is quite small in the center of the window. One word of caution when making cutouts, do not try to make too many as it will make the film somewhat difficult to put up.

Lettering: You can also use this type of film to place a big welcome sign on the top glass panel of your front door, or to highlight your home's street number. Fun messages or slogans can be etched onto a child's window. Letters are often sold in sheets rather than in rolls of film, which makes it much easier to put up.

Patterned film: You can also find film that is already patterned with, for example, horizontal stripes going across the paper with one stripe being frosted and the other transparent. There are all kinds of different designed films available, in both frosted and colored film.

Colored Film: Your room can change totally by adding colored window film onto a window. Some of the favorites are golden and pink, as both really provide a warm feeling and ambiance to a room. While you do have to be careful with your color choice, quite startling and amazing effects can be seen when colored film is added to a window.

UV Window Film: One of the more practical uses for window film that has added UV protection is that it can limit the harmful effects sun's rays can have on furniture and fabrics in a room. This type of film is also great for limiting the glare on computer monitors or television screens.

Films come in different sizes and quality too. They are usually fairly easy to put up though if you are planning on adding film to a large area it is advisable to enlist the help of someone.
