A wireless pet containment system may look like a bad idea for many pet owners. Actually, there are several good reasons why you should contain your pet. It provides safety and sanitation notonly for the pet but also for its proud owners. Many of these pet containment systems can be used indoors to keep dogs or cats out of certain rooms of the house.

More often known as invisible fences, wireless pet containment systems, are designed to safely prevent your pet from leaving your property. The barrier works by burying a wire around the perimeter of where you want your pet to stay, and that wire responds via the electronic collar that gives off a shock when your pet gets too close to the wire.

One of the reasons that these invisible fences are so popular, is that they are very inexpensive to install. Another benefit is that there is very little maintenance needed for this kind of fencing. When you bury the wire you will want to put it somewhere between one to six inches below the surface of your yard. You can leave the wire laying on top of the grass if you like, but it is more susceptible to all of the weather, and animals in your area. Usually in a period of three weeks, your dog will stop pushing the boundaries, and learn where it can go within the perimeter.

You may want to consider some training in addition to using one of these wireless pet containment systems. The great thing about a wireless pet containment system, is that unlike a fence you can set up so that your pet can't go into certain areas of your yard. You will never have to worry about your pet and the Koi pond again.
