A review of a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker
I'm guessing that there aren't to many folks who don't fancy the rich taste and texture of home smoked meat. yes, you can but them from the supermarket, but the homemade flavor just aint the same, and with your own Masterbuilt Electric Smoker you have the pride and satisfaction of doing this pleasant job yourself at home.
The model I looked at is the Masterbuilt 20070910 Black 30-Inch Electric Smokehouse Smoker. It comes with a great reputation and a host of well designed features like:
- 2-1/2-cubic-foot electric smoker with powder-coated steel exterior
- 4 smoking racks; push-button digital control panel; 24-hour timer; auto shut-off
- Thermostat-controlled electronic temperature; insulated for energy-efficient cooking
- Air damper; side-loading wood tray; removable drip pan and rear-mounted grease pan
- Measures approximately 19-1/2 by 18-2/7 by 34 inches
With those four smoking racks you have plenty of room to smoke off a variety of cut meats, like fish fillets and chicken breasts, and also bigger items like prime rib and whole chickens and turkeys - even game meats. Also with the thermostatically controlled electronic temperature control, you have the ability to precisely smoke your food just the way you like it. It has a rec retail of $300, but I have sourced it at less than half that price!
This has been a big selling model amongst experienced smokers and first timers alike. It has attracted plenty of positive feedback:
"The Masterbuilt smoker is a wonderful product for the price. Whether you're new to smoking, or an experienced smoker who wants a less hands on, labor intensive smoke, this is simply the best you can get for the $$"
"I studied electric smokers on quite a few websites for days and found that this smoker had the best reviews. So, I went for it and am so glad I did. I've never smoked before but everything that I've smoked turned out absolutely delicious"
Hey, you'll be smoking all kinds of delicious meats before you know it!
As an essential addition to your smoker, I have included a mention of a good brand of Hickory Wood Chips
Here's a comment from a buyer:
"The box came with 12 separate packages of mesquite chips. I have used it with beef, chicken, and fish and the chips work very well and produce tasty, smoke-flavored food."
Perhaps the only thing left is to get yourself a good smoking recipe book. There are plenty around, so check out the range available.
My prediction is that not only will you and your family be delighted with the smoked delicacies this smoker produces, but that you neighbors will be plenty curious about those great smells wafting over your fence!
