World's Five Unique and Amazing Shops

Companies around the world always try to attract customers though advertising, selling weird and attractive products, building strange shops, using awesome marketing tricks, and more. This is because customers always have the tendency to be attracted to weird and unique things. 

There are number of marketing examples you may find around such as a boy selling ice-cream by trickling it from one cup to another, a restaurant offering food in bowls made up of cardboards, a hotel made of access cards, and more. All these ideas are nothing but a way to promote the product.

This article also explains some ideas through a list of five unique and amazing shops around the world just to encourage you to think creatively.

There are merchants in Borneo Island that sell things on boat, which makes the place a famous tourist spot. The market starts at 7’oclock, and merchants sell their stuff everyday riding a boat known as Banjar. Buyers do the same to purchase essential things; that is, they use small boats to reach their desired floating shop and buy stuff needed.

This floating market is at the mouth of Barito River in South Kalimantan. There is no such organization handling the market, therefore, basic data like number of merchants, number of customers is still not available in public domain.

The merchant selling their products in this market are called ‘Hamlet’, and a person who resells the products purchased from a hamlet is known as ‘Panyambangan’. People may buy all essential things like vegetables, food, and other household goods over there.

The area around the river is known as Kuin, which is famous for its cultural and natural tourism. Tourists who come to visit this market also visit villages having tradition architecture along the river, and spend unforgettable moments with the locals. [5]

Afghanistan is unfortunately known only for terrorist’s activities; however, there are lots of other things over there, which you may enjoy a lot, and one of them is Bird’s Fight. People in Afghanistan are very much fond of watching this fight. Besides the bird’s fight entertains its lovers, it also creates a base for an amazing market to sell variety of birds. The name of this famous market is ‘Ka Farushi’.

Since keeping birds as pet is somewhat like custom among Afghan people, natives from all over the country come to this place to buy their favorite birds. As the road through the market is not too wide to drive a car into, it remains full of melodious sounds of birds devoid of vehicle’s noise.

 The market is situated in Kabul, near the bridge across Kabul River. As the Taliban era has been ending, the salespersons reported that the number of customers in the market have been increasing rapidly, and thereby their income, too. Besides, the refugees are also returning to Afghanistan, which is a great sign for people who are basically relying only on the Ka Farushi market.[3]

Every company ants to sell their products in a unique way to generate more profit; this is why a bag manufacturing company in Switzerland named Freitag decided to build a shopping mall for its products using recycled shipping containers. The company opened this mall in Zurich, in 2006, and since then the graph of recognition of the company has been increasing unbelievably.

The mall is constructed placing 19 recycled shipping containers along a highway, and is of 26m height.  There are four sales floors where 1600 bags can be placed to sell. The company claims that the mall is its largest collection of individual recycled freeway-bags.

 Some say it’s near the highway and therefore it’s too noisy inside; but the mall is also a motivation for someone who wants to create something unique and special.  [1]

 If you want to decorate your home with animal skeleton or ancient stuff, you should probably go to the shop situated in Paris named Deyrolle. The shop offers variety of creepy stuff like frog’s skeleton, stuffed Ilk, stone aged axe, and more.

The shop was opened by an entomologist Emile Deyrolle, in 1831. You will see number of small creatures like butterflies, rabbits, foxes, geese, elks, when you just enter the shop. However the place is full of more creepy stuffs inside that are bigger in size and dressed like human.

Due to the variety of products, a large number of customers ranging from young scientist to overly-wealthy people come to this place to shop.[4]

La Paz is a crowd city in Bolivia and has over one million populations. The city is full of almost all kinds of amenities such as shopping mall, beautiful garden, good infrastructure, and more. You can find here a MacDonald store to get a burger, but the things suddenly change if you step into its side streets.

Lots of traditional and weird shops scattered over a large part are functioning along the side streets. One of them is famous for selling weird products that could be best probably for witches, and this is why the place in known as ‘The Witches’ Market’. Due to the products offered in the market, it has become a famous destination for tourists coming to Bolivia.

What you can buy is only unexpected weird stuff such as dried Llama Fetus, Llama burnt on a plate of sweets and herbs, dried frogs, Bolivian armadillos, Amulette d'amor, naked ceramic couples, and more. All these products are of spiritual importance, and are being sold by witch doctors known as ‘Yatiri’. Each product is used for a purpose, for instance, dried frog is for increasing wealth. [2]

Person who opens a business has only one motive that is how to increase the profit. As competition is pretty high in each and every sector, merchant always tries to do something different just to attract more customers. Their hunger to generate more profit initiates new ideas, and few ideas that are incredibly well, rapidly become famous all over the world.
