Worried about quitting heroin try the painless heroin detoxification
The first step towards the treatment of heroin addiction is a process called heroin detoxification. Repeated use of heroin creates a physical dependency on the drug, causing the addict to become sick with flu-like symptoms that will get progressively worse the longer the addict goes without using more heroin.
Usually within 24 to 36 hours of taking the drug, the effects will begin to wear off, and the addict begins the symptoms of heroin withdrawal the addict will experience cold sweats, and feel achy all over very much like the onset of the flu. Nausea and diarrhea usually follow, with cold chills and muscle cramps that will get progressively worse the longer the addict goes without using more heroin.
At this stage of the addiction, the addict uses more heroin just to get well again, rather than get high like in the beginning of the addiction. Depending on the regular usage amount and the addict's general health, withdrawal symptoms can be lethal, damaging the liver, pancreas, heart, and blood vessels. When the withdrawal symptoms get severe, then it becomes time for a painless heroin detoxification.
This is a process used to rid the addict's body of the heroin completely, and to calm the physical withdrawals the body is experiencing due to the lack of heroin in the person's system. There are many differing opinions and methods for heroin detox, and can be done as an out-patient or in-patient basis, depending on the severity of the addiction and the methods used to rid the body of the chemical. One method is by weaning the body off of the drug by giving the addict a decreasing dosage of a synthetic heroin produced to mimic the effects of heroin on the body without actually taking anymore heroin itself.
Suboxone heroin detox
If this does not work then I recommend heroin addiction rehab. There you will be cared for by professionals who will look after your needs as well as talk to you about your addiction to heroin and what you are going through they will also administer prescription medications like suboxone this type of suboxone heroin detox will be basically as painless as possible. I have used this method to kick heroin and from my experience once the medication kicks in you should not suffer at all.
This type of heroin detox will take around 5 days give or take; however I suggest that you continue your recovery in residential treatment so you can learn how not to use heroin when you leave rehab. Those who do not continue on to residential treatment will use again or in other words relapse. Some will not get a second chance because they will either die of a drug related crime or succumb to a heroin overdose.
Good luck
