How To Start Writing
If you are an expert on a subject and want to contribute to Infobarrel we would love to have you as a member. Members not only get the benefit of having their content visible to the entire Internet, but you can also make money in doing so! Members can also email articles to other friends as well as comment on existing articles.
Simply fill out our sign up form and start writing! You will be assigned an account manager who will review your articles before they go live on the site. Once you have signed up and filled out your profile you can add a Google Adsense Publisher ID to your account which will allow you to start earning money through Google's adsense program.
If you don't already have an Adsense account, make sure you have your profile filled out complete with a small bio. You should also have at least one published article in your profile prior to applying to ensure Google approves your account.

I'm a new info barreller too. My first few articles were approved within about 12 hours. How soon do the "achievements" appear on my account? e.g. new writer, made one comment, etc?

Achievements are checked every night at midnight EST. If you have met any requirements for achievements at that point, the achievement will show up of your account.
So...I started out at Squidoo....made my way over to eHow....and, quite honestly, after the submission of my first article, I find this platform very inviting.
....over the last year, I have written 74 very high quality articles that I would like to ADD to this site.....can I do this today, or should I only do 5 or so per day? (I believe other sites have limits to how many articles one can upload)....
....these articles haven't been uploaded to any other website....but, I just held on to them because I like to write, and thought I could one day use them for something like this....

We don't have a limit on how many articles a user can submit to the site in a day, or ever for that matter, so feel free to submit as many as you would like.
I am trying to delete all my articles at ehow and bring them here, but ehow is sooooo ridden with glitches right now, their editing (and thus, deleting) programs are not working. Can I start to move my articles here even though there is removals problems at ehow?

We have a strict policy here about duplicate content and won't approve an article if it is found to be online elsewhere. If you are going to post articles that have been posted elsewhere, please make sure they are removed before you submit them to InfoBarrel.
Thanks! I'm just working around the glitches over there and bringing over what I can delete. I love this site! Hopefully, you'll pay as much, if not more than eHow was! I'd take the same pay, just to lose the headaches from that site!

It takes some time...especially if you have ALOT of articles....but, I just went through and added BLANK to all the article boxes, and then published....I hope that will suffice....all the content has been deleted....
Is there any particular Font here that everyone likes more than others? I know this gets down to intricate details.......but, does anyone know of a font that has been linked to more click-throughs on Adverts?....Something so simple....I'm sure someone, somewhere in cyberspace has done research on that.....anyone have a Font that they particularly like to use more than other types?

I kind of like the font on this forum. I don't like the book fonts with the little tails all over. Just clear letters. I just noticed the font in the "add a new comment" box is the tailed letter font I was talking about....
Is it okay to use Amazon Associates program here?

You can use Amazon links in your articles, with a few restrictions. They count towards your 2 self-serving links, must be used contextually (no banners) and the article must provide value on its own and not be a promotional page for whatever product you are linking to.
Another questions--my article's ads don't seem to match my article. How do we adjust this?

Your ads are automatically chosen by Google. Google's crawler bots read the page and decide what the content of the article is and then assign ads accordingly. This can sometimes take a little time before they find out the right ads for your content. Be patient with the process and proper ads will find their way to your page.
Sorry, this is probably covered somewhere in all those emails, but, frankly, my neck hurts.
What is the word count, font size, spacing and all those kind of thing.

Hi Bonny,
We require a minimum of 325 words in our articles and recommend at least 400 words as the bigger the better. The font size and spacing that we use on the site is 14px Georgia. If you type in the Infobarrel editor then it will come out this size when you post it.

We manage the placement of the ads as we want to keep the articles uniform and we do extensive testing on ad placement to track down the best place for the ads.

I have been told I cannot place a non-contexual link in the body of the text, only in a signiture, but im finding it hard to find how to put a signiture in. How Exactly do I do this. the signuture box, on the right says "no signiture". why is this? thanks

Somehow, ALL my articles seem to have been DE-INDEXED from Google?!
I've been building backlinks to my articles and, at one time, most were already on page 2 of Google!
Now, when I search for the articles' titles + infobarrel, nothing comes up and, when I copy and paste the exact article title in google's search box using " " for exact phrase search, the results I get are No results found for "article title!"
Now, is this a Google thing to delist articles off infobarrel, or is this something to do with infobarrel admin delisting articles?
I have numerous articles on xomba and elsewhere that were indexed within minutes of publishing, and those articles are still indexed today, but somehow none on this site!!
Care to please shed some serious light on this????

We would definitely not deindex any of the articles on the site from Google, or any other search engine.
I did a search for your articles and was able to find them all in the first entry (When I searched for Infobarrel + the article title). So they are definitely still indexed. It might be that the data center that gets searched from where you live was getting reorganized.

Just rechecked my results a moment ago and, whilst what you say is correct, not ALL my articles have been indexed!
If you search for my pheromones articles, the indexed page relates to the MEDIA - that being the pictures which, for seo purposes, have the same name with the topic in discussion.
When you click on the resultant page in the the Mighty G, you'll see that the page is indeed that of the pictures to the article.
Again, as you state, this is not an infobarrel doing... I usually check my articles within hours of them being accepted to see if they have been indexed, and this seems to be an on and off situation on this site.
One day all are indexed, and the next, one or two, which really is quite disturbing, considering the time since they were published, till now.
Will give the pheromones article a day or two to see if it's indexed without the word "MEDIA" in the url, before I pull it off and submit it elsewhere.

if you go into your My Account page, you can see your Adsense ID and check it with the ID found in your actual Adsense account page.
I know that you do not want duplicate content. But, is it ok if an article is published on another site AFTER it has been published on InfoBarrel?

No we do not allow for articles that are published elsewhere to be published here. So if you publish articles elsewhere after you publish here, they'll be removed from Infobarrel. We do this to protect the integrity of the site and all the authors that write for it.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I can see the login in what you are saying. But the www has turned into an echo chamber where content gets picked up by plagiarizers and content-scrappers all the time. I hope no articles are pulled down because someone else plagiarized them, later.

If articles appear on a site after they are published here, we'll take a look at the site to see if it is one of "those" sites before we pull it off of Infobarrel.

Is it alright with you if we rewrite PLR (private label rights) articles for InfoBarrel? I wouldn't be posting the original PLR article. I'd post my article that I wrote that is based on the PLR article.

Using a PLR article is alright if you are using it as a guideline for your own article, however the article text must be original to the web and can't duplicated.
I thought I would be able to earn money here, but over the period of two years my articles have paid nothing. However, all of them have been visited hundreds of times. It would help if someone could enlighten me as to why this is happening.

I just took a look at your account and you only have 3 articles that have about 150 total views. Unfortunately many of those views will be from when visitor data was recording search engine crawlers as visitors to your article. Since February 2011 we have stopped counting those views as actual visits to your articles, as they are not real people. Also, you may want to look into creating some back links to your articles to boost their search engine appeal.
To get a better understanding of what you need to do to make your articles earn, I suggest posting your question in the forum. People will be able to give you much more in depth answers than I can do in this reply.
Sorry! actual stats showing only 1 article with just over 100 views out of 3 articles.. To get better earnings write more articles on less competitive keywords.
I recently had most of my articles on BrightHub removed as they had stopped revenue-share.When I tried reposting them here,it says the articles have been published??But they do not currently exist.What's happening??Please keep in mind that I will provide you with only unique content that is not published elsewhere,and will not be published anywhere in the future.

It is possible your articles were not completely removed or have been copied and posted elsewhere. Admin is used to accepting mass moves of articles from other writing sites. Send them a message with details.
I'm quite experienced in this field,and I know that if I provide duplicate content,it will affect me the most.

Just wrote my first article yesterday and it shows it back in the draft section rather then pending. Does this mean I need to add more words, check spelling etc? Just getting a feel for this, so not sure what is expected. Feedback would be great as far as what needs to be changed.
You must have hit the wrong button. Go back to the article in Draft and hit publish. Good luck.
