The Xbox 360 is a video game console owned and distributed by Microsoft. It is the second system produced by Microsoft, with its predecessor being the original X-Box (Xbox 360 has backwards compatibility which allows it to play over 450 original Xbox games). Microsoft is one of the newest contenders in the console war between Nintendo, whose current contender is the Wii, and Sony, with the PS3. Now the console war is in what is considered the seventh generation. One of the main selling points of the 360 its ability to connect to Xbox Live, which allows players to compete online against each other as well as download content via Xbox Live Marketplace.

The Xbox 360 launched in the United States on November 22, 2005, and to this date (October 2009) it has sold 34 million units. Within the first year of release it had launched in 36 different countries, more than any other console had ever launched in a single year. The Xbox 360 was sold in two different packages, the Xbox 360 "Core" which sold for $299 and the Xbox 360 which sold for $399. The more expensive version came with a wireless controller (versus a wired), HD Audio/Visual cords, a n Xbox Live Headset, and a hard drive. Since then there have also been many special edition Xbox 360 models, usually modeled after video games. Some of the most notable editions are the Halo 3, Resident Evil 5, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 editions.

The current Xbox 360 bundles for sale are the Xbox 360 elite, which retails for $399 and includes a 120 GB Hard drive as well as a black finish, and the Xbox 360 Arcade, which retails for $199 and comes with a 256 MB memory card in place of a hard drive.
