Xbox 360 versus PlayStation 3

By | Jan 4, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Video games have come to be one of the greatest entertaining systems since technology started adapting. Many companies jumped on the bandwagon of creating "the best" gaming console for all players. It's obvious that as each new gaming console is released they are all vying for that title of "the best." How can you, as a consumer, really know which is the best for your children, or even for you when there are gaming consoles like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3?

Well first, let's break it down to only two choices. Granted, there are a few more options than this but these are two consoles that are the newest and greatest of consoles which your kids are asking for, right? Microsoft and Sony have both created extraordinary gaming consoles: Microsoft with the Xbox and Sony with the PlayStation 3. Both are claiming to be number one, both have some incredible features and both will play mostly the same game titles, so how can you know which to buy? Let's compare the PlayStation 3 to the Xbox 360.

PlayStation 3

In 2006 Sony expected an incredible release surpassing all releases in their history with PlayStation 3 gaming consoles; unfortunately their huge dreams turned into shambles as the PlayStation 3 wasn't widely accepted nor did it perform up to its glorified potential. However, Sony worked hard to rectify issues found with the PlayStation 3 and you'll find the gaming console is up to par with many of the other widely accepted gaming consoles.

Some of the adored features with the PlayStation 3 console are the Blu-ray DVD player which gives you some of the best quality pictures you've ever seen in a gaming system. In addition to great pictures the Blu-ray can store more data which means gaming creators add more detail and depth to their drawings and games.

Another addition to the PlayStation 3 console is the Wi-Fi capabilities it has. This is great for playing some of your most favorite PlayStation 3 games with friends from around the world. A great feature loved by nearly all gamers.

You can't forget the other amazing qualities on the PlayStation 3, either, like the Bluetooth wireless controllers, the backward playing ability and the upgradeable hard disk.

Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is a gaming console which has some of its own amazing features that make the gaming console a great buy. Microsoft literally focused on how the gaming console could best serve the gamers' needs. The Xbox also has wireless controllers plus Wi-Fi capabilities which allow you to connect and play on Xbox Live with friends and compete against other players with some games. You'll also have the ability to upgrade the Xbox's hard drive as well as receive online updates for many games. In addition, you can also use a headset on Xbox live to communicate with your friends while you game.

Obviously there are many similarities between the Xbox and PlayStation 3 gaming consoles which is what makes it so difficult to decide which gaming console to buy. Buy what your gamer needs based off of these descriptions. If you're interested in having a two in one and play games plus Blu-ray discs you should invest in a PlayStation 3. If you're looking for specific games only available for the Xbox then it's pretty obvious you should get the Xbox. Talk with your gamer about his/her gaming console needs.
