The Federal Government has a great employment website, where you can find great jobs. Log on to usajobs.opm.gov, and check out all the great postings. Accounting, Health Care, Information Technology, just about anything you can imagine is listed.

Some of the requirements for Federal Government jobs are a bit hard to understand. You'll itemslisted as GS-1 through GS-11. Here's a quick overview of the GS codes. GS-1 require no High School Diploma, but GS-2 jobs do. GS-3 Requires one year of college, while a GS-4 job requires 2 years of college or an Associate Degree. For a GS-5 job you'll need a Bachelor's Degree, and for some reason, there's no GS-6. To get a GS-7 job you'll need a Bachelor's Degree plus and one additional year of full time study, but you'll need a second year, or a Masters Degree for a GS-9 job. You guessed it, there's no GS-8. GS-9 jobs require a law degree, and GS-11 jobs are for those with a PhD. or equivalent doctorate. I know it's long and confusing, so find the one that matches your level of education and apply for anything with the same GS rating or lower.

Some jobs will also say "Employee", this means the job is only open to current or former Federal Government employees. In addition, some jobs are listed as "Status candidates only", meaning the position is reserved for certain candidates. This could be a Veterans only position, or only available to those with a disability.

Search through the job finder, it's actually quite easy. You can narrow your search geographically. If you're willing to relocate, look at the areas your willing to relocate to. You will find that you really can land great Federal Government jobs if you are willing to put some time into it.
