You Can Grow Taller - Here's How

Although there is undoubtedly some luck involved in the amount of height a person will reach in his lifetime, there are still some things we can do if we really want to grow taller. Chances are that you're one of the majority whose genes didn't come with "6 feet of height or greater" built in, and you'll just have to accept this fact, but that doesn't mean that you're powerless to do something that will squeeze the maximum that your genes will allow. There are still those who will try to sell you some miracle pill that is supposed to increase your height by several inches by tomorrow morning. Adolescents in their growth-spurt years can experience amazing increases in height, but of course this varies widely from individual to individual. Whether you're still an adolescent wanting to add inches to your height fasterr, or someone way past their teenage years wanting to maximize whatever height you can still squeeze out of your physique, there are a few things you should incorporate into your lifestyle which will help you achieve exactly that.


The easiest to incorporate into an average lifestyle is adequate, good quality sleep. Human Growth Hormones (HGH), the primary building block of height-increase, gets released from the pituitary gland in pulses or waves, with the most active time being the first few hours of sleep and continuing throughout the entire sleep cycle. The occasional late night to burn the midnight oil at the office or to attend a weekend party shouldn't be bad as long as it stays occasional. Should you find yourself at a party, smoking and drinking away, just be aware that the cigarettes and alcohol will negatively impact the way your body absorbs the calcium in your food or supplements, and that can adversely affect your height-gain.

As to diet, another thing to keep in mind in your new height-conscious lifestyle is that too much fat intake can affect your ability to get taller. We shouldn't eliminate it completely as fat plays its part in our bodies, but chances are we already eat way more than is recommended. Replace this fatty food with ones that are calcium and protein rich. Beans and legumes as well as soy and soy products will provide the proteins, and milk will take care of the calcium.

The effects of regular exercise are well worth the effort, and growth in terms of height is one of the many advantages you can get with moderate weight-lifting, running, swimming, and activities of that sort. Do check with a doctor first before embarking on any exercise program, just to be on the safe side. Stretches that work on the spine and legs will also give you a more height-gain specific work-out.

And yes, whether you believe it or not, there is one thing you can do that will enhance your height instantly, with no drugs, exercise, or special diets. No, we are not talking about platform shoes, but good posture. Pay attention that your spine is as straight as you can naturally make it, don't slouch, stand proud. You may find that this alone will add up to 2 inches or more to your height.
