Your Childs Bed Could Be A Futon Mattress
With the different stages in life, there are many milestones to celebrate. One of these is the step your child makes from a crib to a big-boy or big-girl bed. This is a cause for much excitement. Probably more exciting for the kids as the parents now have to worry about the constant up and down from the bed antics a child will do. Some parents are familiar with the futon mattress as a choice for kids because they used it as a crib mattress. However, you may not be one of them or even have any idea that futons could be an option.
Yes, the new styles and makes of futon mattresses are making it easier and easier to use just as you would with your conventional mattress choice. This option is even more flexible however because you can fold it up into a sitting couch in your child's room to make more space for playing. It is a great idea for those smaller spaces or rooms with multiple beds. Unless you have the luxury of a room entirely dedicated to your child's toys, this can come in quite handy. Our whole house seems to be the place for the kid's toys!
If you can fold up their bed, as a futon can, then you have that much more room. In fact, with the movement to create more flexible futon options, there are bed frames for futons that can be designed for storage. These don't typically allow for you to fold up the bed and frame, but they are another option for storage your children's stuff when not in use. Good luck, by the way. You will probably be the one becoming very familiar with how these bed frame storage systems work if you know what I mean.
So, why is a futon mattress a good option for your child anyway? Well, for starters, they are supportive. They provide good cushion and support which are ideal for helping your little one rest at night. In addition to this, they can be placed on the floor or close to it for easier entrance and exit. There are child-sized futon mattresses that can also work for the various frames made especially for kids. More features would include the fact that you can get futon covers that have all sorts of kid-friendly designs and prints to make their bed special and unique for their likes and tastes. There are also covers that can protect the mattress from an occasional accident during the night for those newly potty-trained kids. In the end, you should consider a futon mattress for your child if you are looking for flexible sleeping arrangements and a bed that is relatively inexpensive in comparison.
