Your First Spray Tanning Session

By | Feb 4, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

If you are nervous about your first spray tanning session then you shouldn't worry too much if you know how to prepare. Preparation is the most important part of spray tanning. Whether or not you have prepared your skin, that is what determines you tan outcome. The first time you get an artificial tan should be a good experience and the things you need to do before getting to the salon are exfoliating, shaving and residue free skin. You also need to know what to wear after application.

You must exfoliate your skin because if you don't you will have a blotchy tan that won't last 2 days. Sit in a jacuzzi if you have one, if not you can use a bathtub. Soak your skin in very warm water. I normally go as to as I can bear it. The longer you sit in the tub the deeper the dead skin cells will be soaked. You don't need to stay longer than 15 minutes. You will then have to use some kind of exfoliating scrubber or a course loofah and a very sudsy soap without any moisturizer. Scrub your body gently and you will notice the tub filling up with gray colored dead skin.

I personally prefer to wax before all my spray tanning courses because the skin stays smoother for at least a month. I take tanning seriously which is the reason why I get the waxing done at a salon when I normally do it by myself. It takes about two days for my pores to close up and heal then I exfoliate and head off to the tanning booth.

Although it is common sense that your skin has to be very clean many people subconsciously apply moisturizer and deodorant and these are two big mistakes. Even with a thin layer of cream this would effect your tanning. Tanning will not go through thus you will have lighter areas where you put the moisturizer.Leave your local tanning salon with very loose clothing to keep your tan nice. As a spray tanning guide I advise you not to wear tight jeans and shoes.

Spray tanning for the first time can be great or it can be lousy. You don't have to have too much experience to get a lovely tan all you need to do is follow a few steps and then you can show off your gorgeous glowing tan.
