The new latest yugioh news is buzzing over the new Starstrike Blast set. This set is going to add some cards to some of the existing archetypes as well as adds a new archetype to the yugioh news world. There will also be some new tech for decks in this set. Starstrike Blast will also include more fusion synchro monsters. These monsters are powerful fusions that require a synchro monster as a fusion material monster. This set will also include the new Cosmic Synchro monsters, these monsters are basically monster that you have you synchro summon twice for.

The archetypes that will gain some new support are "Scrap", "Archfiend", "Watt", "Naturia", "Blackwing", "Ice Barrier", "Synchron", "Koa'ki Meiru", "Skull Servant", "Gaia Knight", "Monarch", "Dragunity", "Genex" archetypes. These archetypes gain some very helpful support from this set. One of the best new support cards is "Blackwing - Aurora of the Northern Lights". This new blackwing monster can basically become a blackwing synchro monster until the end of the turn. This card is also one of the most talked about new cards in yugioh news and has the potential to become a very powerful trump card for blackwings.

"This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 1 face-up "Blackwing" Tuner monster and 1 face-up non-Tuner monster you control. Once per turn, you can remove 1 "Blackwing" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. Until the End Phase, while face-up on the field, this card's name is treated as that monster's name, its ATK becomes equal to that monster's ATK, and it gains the same effects as that monster."

Always with a new yugioh card set we gain a new archetype called "Karakuri". Karakuri monsters resemble ancient mechanical puppets form the 17th thru 19th century. Karakuri means a "mechanical device to tease, trick, or take a person by surprise". The archetypes effects reflect how they are mechanical puppets as they cannot choose to attack or defend. The names of the cards are also taken from Japanese numerals, as when the first 2 numbers in their names are multiplied together you get the last number.

Karakuri have a very original play style, as when they are attacked they switch to defense. Also they usually have low attack and high defense which comes in handy with their special effect. They are also machine type monsters which can lead to many combinations with other machine type archetypes like Machinas, Cyber Dragons, and Morphtronics. Morphtronics are an effective match since their effects revolve around switching to attack and defense. You can also use earth support cards to power up your these monsters.

"This card must attack if possible. When this face-up card is selected as an attack target, change it to Defense Position. When this card is flipped face-up, select and send 1 face-up monster on the field to the Graveyard. Also, this card can attack your opponent directly during that same turn that it is flipped face-up."

As always we have some interesting tech cards from the new set and some of these cards are shaking up yugioh news. One interesting card is "Glow-Up Bulb", this card helps you gain a tuner monster very quickly and can help you synchro summon fast. It will be mostly useful in lightsworns and quickdraw decks. As lightsworns can mill cards to the graveyard and quickdraw has plant type support.

"You can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard and Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. You can only use this effect once per Duel."

Another interesting thing is that we will be receiving 2 more fusion synchros. Fusion synchros have very interesting art and effects. At first look they seem to be overpowered with their strong attack, effect, and very wicked art work. They have a big disadvantage though, they are usually very hard to summon. Also most of them require very specific monsters to fuse into them. I believe that these types of cards have some potential and I hope to see more of them in the future.

"1 Spellcaster-Type Synchro Monster + 1 Spellcaster-Type monster

This card cannot be Special Summoned from your Extra Deck except by Fusion Summon. When this card is Fusion Summoned, place 2 Spell Counters on it. This card gains 1000 ATK for each Spell Counter on it. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Spell Counter from a card you control to activate one of these effects:

● Select and destroy 1 card on the field.

● Draw 1 card."

""Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth" + 1 non-Effect Synchro Monster

This card cannot be targeted or destroyed by the effect(s) of an Effect Monster."

Now let's talk about the new and very powerful Cosmic Synchro monsters. These monsters are basically like double synchro summoning. I call it double synchro summoning because "Shooting Star Dragon" uses synchro tuner monsters to summon it. The other reason I call it double synchro summoning is because the other cosmic synchro "Red Nova Dragon", requires two tuner monsters. These requirements make summoning these monsters harder to do but, their effects and stats make it worth it. These two dragons are also the two signature cards used by the main characters to win the duels. I do not believe that these monsters will be very competitive but, they will be cool to use just for fun.

"1 Synchro Tuner Monster + "Stardust Dragon"

You can activate each of these effects once per turn: ● Reveal the top 5 cards of your Deck, then shuffle your Deck. During this turn's Battle Phase, this card can attack once for each Tuner monster revealed this way. ● You can negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect that would destroy a card(s) on the field, and destroy that card. ● When an opponent's monster declares an attack, you can remove from play this card to negate the attack. If you negate an attack this way, Special Summon this card during the End Phase."

"2 Tuner Monsters + "Red Dragon Archfiend"

This card gains 500 ATK for each Tuner monster in your Graveyard. This card cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. When an opponent's monster declares an attack, you can remove from play this card and negate the attack. If you negate an attack this way, Special Summon this removed from play card during the End Phase."

In closing, this set is very cool and provides the competitive card as well as fun cards. Collectors and Duelists will enjoy this set as is will change up the yugioh news world as the last packs have done.
