Zara Clothing is a fashion empire. Beginning in 1975, Amancio Ortega, the Zara Clothing Line founder, wanted something that could compare to the top fashion brands of the time. Zara, this time in age, is owned under the Inditex Group, which owns plenty of other beauty companies. Gap umbrella had been the leader in these types of store fronts, but they were soon overtaken by Zara. There are a few things that are going great for them, and I am going to list the facts for you.

Zara stores are found throughout the world now a day’s, with over 1500 stores. A vast majority being located and Spain and Europe, the reach of this company is starting to grip the United States on a large scale. This company has recently been called the most “innovative and devastating fashion retailer in the world”, so how can you even compete? What else does this company do? NO Advertising, yep, you heard it here, they do not spend one dollar on advertising. All that revenue they would be spending, goes straight into opening new stores. Most would think this is crazy, but Zara Clothing is doing it, and they are doing it well.

Most fashion companies, such as Gap or Banana Republic usually take up to 6 months to release a new clothing line into its stores. Zara counters this by something close to a fast food restaurant. It only takes them 2 weeks to get new clothes into the stores for consumers to buy. If a new trend is seen emerging from the streets, they have it in two weeks. From the latest facts I have read, just last year, they released 12,000 new designs!

You may purchase stuff around the world from companies like H&M clothing and Old Navy, and find that all the clothing is made in 3rd world countries. Well, guess what? Ortega had a different idea behind this company, he wanted his fast fashion to help not only his sales, but with jobs within his own country and around Europe. He would rather pay good money for good clothing, and pass that on to the consumers.

The clothing lines put out by Zara clothing come out with a variety of names for both men and women. You have stuff for the men, the women, the kids, a “basic” line which is the cheaper versions.
