Zodiac Signs and Dates Change! Well sort of

By Edited Mar 22, 2014 0 0

For my whole life, i've been a Scorpio. So for me to wake up one day and not be a Scorpio is kind of wierd. I've never been one for Zodiac signs, but it seems strange that one day the Zodiac signs and dates can just change to something new. Although this is going to break a lot of you hard core Zodiac followers hearts. Your Zodiac sign has changed, and a date has been set for your new sign.

The ancient Babylonians based their zodiac signs on the actual constellation the sun was "in" the day a person comes into existence. throughout the follow millennia's, our moons gravitation tug on Earth has produced whats called the wobble effect, where there is a small motion in the Earths axis of rotation relative to the Earths surface. This wobble, over time, has created a one month jump in the stars alignment. The marvel was originally seen in 130 B.C. by Greek Astronomer, Hipparchus of Nicea. And consequently, if you gander at what stars are directly behind out sun on any particular date, what you are seeing is VERY unlike what was there 5,000 years ago on that same exact date.

So, what does this mean?

"When [astrologers] say that the sun is in Pisces, it's really not in Pisces," said Parke Kunkle, a board member of the Minnesota Planetarium Society, who also believes it is scientifically impossible for personally traits to be tied to constellations.

So it seems, that all those Pisces out there are actually now Aquarians. So say good bye to that sensitive, idealistic, and humane persona, and say hello to loyal, friendly and inventive!

But there is respite out there for all you Zodiac enthusiasts: Although the science behind the Zodiac symbols of astrology have its roots very deep in astronomy, it doesn't mean they are the same thing. Astrology gives meaning to stars and their alignments, and Astronomy simply explains the placement of certain planets and stars in the sky. To go further, Astronomy is firmly based on the laws of physics, therefore endeavoring to explain what we are seeing happen today. Because these laws of physics are so far constant, it can also help us to discover what has happened in the past, and what might happen in the future of our universe. Divergently, Astrology seems to claim the ability of predicting what is happening and what will happen in an individuals life, based on thing such as birth dates, constellations, and configurations of solar systems.

So, although the signs may have changed in an astronomical sense, it doesn't necessarily mean that your ASTROLOGICAL sign has changed.
