Zumba, Dance Your Way to Fitness

One fine day Alberto ‘Beto’ Perez, a celebrity fitness trainer, discovered a fitness program that would change the lives of millions in future. Yes, Zumba, one of the most popular fitness concept was discovered accidentally. One eventful day this fitness guru forgot to bring his aerobic music to his fitness centre. The only alternative he had now were the Latin music tapes in his car. The Zumba music was also an accidental discovery. The only music available in his cars was some Columbian traditional music.

Beto trained his clients that day with this music and named it Zumba Music. Gradually he decided to modify and improvise the concept by using power steps from merengue, salsa and other dance forms. He succeeded in creating his own dance routine for fitness that was not only effective but entertaining and enjoyable as well. It helped many of his clients lose weight in a matter of days.

Alberto decided to reach out to the world and let everyone make use of his creation. In collaboration with many firms Zumba was marketed extensively throughout the world. Many people tried and found it effective the growth story of Zumba Fitness is a history, what is present is now Zumba Fitness has over 90000 Zumba classes in 110 countries and the Zumba program has helped over 10 million people of all age size and shapes, the numbers are increasing rapidly.

In 2003 Zumba collaborated with Kellogs to develop a special Zumba Fitness program targeting the Hispanic. In 2004 the Zumba tutorials were translated into different languages and distributed worldwide for sale. In 2005, the Zumba Educational division was set up to ensure the integrity and quality of the fitness product. The Zumba video is an interactive video to teach beginners to dance to the Zumba music and shed that extra fat. In over 25 years the Zumba video, Zumba Songs and dance steps have sold over several million copies worldwide.

Zumba Music is the key to a proper Zumba training. The tune is a mixture of specific beats and changing tempo that initiates the transition of the workout from one toning, strengthening and cardio move to another thus targeting efficiently and toning and strengthening the thighs, hips and shoulders beside other parts.
