Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia
Feline Cerebellar hypoplasia is a disorder found in cats where their cerebellum has not completely matured by the time they are born.
Typically the symptoms are noticeably immediately after being born however it is not uncommon for symptoms to show up nearly two months after birth.
Symptoms:
- Uncoordinated Motion
- Tremors
- Jerky Movement
Causes:
- Malnutrition during fetal development
- Poisoning during fetal development
- Injury during fetal development
- feline panleukpenia
- Viral infections
- Bacterial infections

The disorder will not improve over the life span of the cat,
however aside from being poorly coordinated, the animal will live a
perfectly healthy life with a normal life expectancy. There is no need
to put a cat down if they have Cerebellar Hypoplasia as they will be
totally capable of living a happy and fulfilling life.
