Small changes for better sleep

Sleep is essential for a healthy body. Instead of reaching for sleeping pills why not try some of the following tips to get a better night’s sleep?
Sleep in the dark
Complete darkness can help to can help to make you sleep easier. Turn all lights off and use a sleep mask.
Switch off
Mobile phones and clocks are annoying. Hearing the tick-tock of the clock in the night can be a nuisance. Mobile phones should be switch them off or better yet don’t bring them into the bedroom. Switching them off will help you switch off.
Take a bath
Just before you go to sleep take a relaxing bath. Falling body temperature can help make you feel sleepy and drowsy. Use products that contain relaxing smells such as lavender for extra relaxation.
Routine
You need to get yourself into a routine where you will go to sleep at a certain time and wake up at certain time. With a regular pattern you will no longer need the alarm clock so ditch it. The noise from the alarm clock shocks you so not exactly a great start to the day. You feel grouchy and moody. With a routine you will no longer require an alarm clock and your own body will be your personal alarm.
Sleep on your back
Sleeping on your stomach puts a lot of pressure on your organs, especially the lungs. Switch to sleeping on your back instead as your internal organs will feel more relaxed.
