The recent earthquake in Sichuan is no less a disaster by virtue of not approaching the magnitude of the earlier quake of 2008. As the author says, in describing this recent quake and providing comparisons between the two, "...if hundreds of people had been killed by a disaster an hour or so drive from where you live, well, you would not call it a good day. A sadness hangs over the city." A survivor of both these events, Peter gives us a good lesson on how to best deal with an earthquake as it is happening around you and with the after-effects.
