In 2009, researchers conducted a survey of 13,000 insurance sales agents to determine what predicts success (top sales volume). They looked at what factors differentiated the low performers and high performers. Was it the age of the agent? The number of years of experience selling insurance? Was it their education level? NO! The number one predictor of success was CONFIDENCE. Those who scored themselves highly on the confidence scale were the ones who had the highest numbers when it came to productivity. It had nothing to do with their experience in the insurance industry, the amount of sales training they received, or their GPA. It was their mindset going into a sales opportunity. They knew they would make the sale, and that attitude ultimately made the sale.
