Movie Review: The Cabin in the Woods

The Cabin in the Woods is a horror film, although one with a bit of a twist. Not everything is as it seems in the remote cabin, and the motivations behind the events are somewhat different.

Movie Review: The Skin I Live In

The Skin I Live In stars Antonio Banderas as Dr Robert Ledgard, an apparently brilliant and wealthy plastic surgeon who is also a skilled researcher. He is also, from what is seen of his behaviour in the film, completely insane, even if his is an insanity that appears normal and rational and allows Ledgard to pass himself off as a normal human being.

Movie Review: Star Trek Into Darkness

This is a great science fiction film with a lot of action. There are numerous casualties of the various violent acts, but the violence is not of the bloody type, even that which is up close and personal. There is even humour, often involving the humourless Mr Spock.

Movie Review: The Amazing Spider-Man 3D

The Amazing Spider-Man is available in both 2D and 3D films. The 3D version was the one watched. This isn't a sequel to any of the previous three Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire and directed by Sam Raimi, but is instead a reboot of the series. There was originally a Spider-Man 4 and possibly 5 planned, but it/they were cancelled due to disagreements between Sam Raimi and Sony resulting in the reboot being made instead.
