Articles about series
You've read Harry Potter and you have read the Lord of the Rings, you have just started into the Fantasy literature genre and that's great! However, when you take to the fantasy community for recommendations into further fantasy works, the recommendations you get all almost all the same.
Pretty anime characters, a world in peril, a rag-tag group on a mission to save the world? Yep, this is a 'Tale of' game. Tales of Xillia is the thirteenth game in the expansive Tales series and veterans of the series will find much of the familiar. For those that have been turned off by previous Tales game this is definitely not the redeemer, but it isn't exactly the worst game either. Tales of Xillia is just that, a game that runs the middle ground in a long standing series. Likeable to newcomers to the series as well as veterans, but for those that have never found the allure of the series, Tales of Xillia won't draw you in again.
There is just something so overtly romantic about Japan's history. Their isolationism preserved a culture that is so different from the ones that fell prey to western imperialism. Instead of fighting other countries, they fought within their own county for years until united under one central government. It was a chaotic time full of honorable and skilled warriors, corrupt or noble lords, and epic battles that were made so much more involved without (for the most part) the use of gunpowder. It is not surprising that this period in history transfers well into video games. There is so much you can do with it, whether it is telling the true history, perverting it for entertainment, or just focusing on a lone samurai or ninja.
Have you ever tried an anime by watching the first episode, got bored with it and moved on? Only to come back to it later, perhaps on the recommendation of a friend and find that it is indeed awesome? All fans have fallen prey to this one time or another. It is difficult to build the plot, set the scenes, and all the while make a first episode in which hooks the viewers. Some great animes fail spectacularly at getting a deep enough hook in their viewers within the first episode. Through careful sampling and deliberation, it has been deduced that in order to fully get a taste of an anime's watchability or lack thereof, one must watch it until at least episode six of the series.
Scary Movie has been the king of horror movie parodies since the release of the original Scary Movie in 2000. With every new incarnation to the series, they parody both classic and relatively recent horror movies. However, with every new incarnation to the series, they get a little less funny. As they get less funny and more unfunny and offensive, the fan base for them dwindles. Of course they will always have their fan base of 15 year old boys watching an illegal copy while getting trashed on the one beer they stole from the fridge. They will always have them. Scary Movie 5 really plays to that tiny fan base.
The Avengers are a crack team of superheroes that appear in the Avenger comic books published by Marvel Comics. They've risen to international fame outside of the comic community in the 2012 live-action film Marvel's The Avengers and its upcoming sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron. While you can read the main storyline published by Marvel simply titled Avengers and enjoy the team fighting villains like Loki, Korvac, Ultron, and Thanos there is much more to this particular comic book universe. With any superhero team comes a bunch of spin-off series, alternate timelines, and side stories. For the comic book fan young or old with an attachment to the Avengers, here are some great reads within the same universe.
Long gone are the days of a secret magical world and heroic boy wizards, famed Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has moved onto more adult fare. The Casual Vacancy takes place in the idyllic little English town of Pagford who has just suffered the tragic loss of it's beloved Barry Fairbrother.
When the words "live action" are thrown around in terms for adapting an anime or manga, it is best to just pass on it before it even comes out. Unless it is a romance manga or anime, those generally tend to turn out pretty good. However, anything with action scenes tends to be about as iffy as gas station sushi.
Yes, the out of the blue rumors appear to be true. A sequel to the popular 90's sitcom Boy Meets World is getting a sequel rather orignally named Girl Meets World on the Disney Channel. Why that title? The sequel Girl Meets World follows Cory and Topanga's 13 year old daughter Riley and she struggles through puberty in these modern times. The executive producers from Boy Meets World, Michael Jacobs, is developing this one so it sound be pretty good.
Psychological animes are basically anime for people that dislike the blood and gore of horror anime but love the thrills. If you love a good though provoking romp with more meaning hidden in the cracks rather than outright romance or gore, then these anime series are some good options to check out.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 picks up where the previous game left off in the series. It is also considered to be the finest game in the series yet. This incarnation of the game goes further than any previous Naruto game by taking gamers past the Pain Arc and onwards into the Fourth Ninja World War. However, is this third in the series a fantastic play through or do Naruto fans have their blinders on because they are entering into epic content from the anime / manga?
I have played a lot of games, I have a full sized dresser filled to the brim that can attest to that. More than any other genre of game, I have played role playing games the most. Radiata Stories is a typical RPG that doesn't exactly make an effort to be anything different than the normal RPG. So why is this seemingly ordinary one of my favorite games compared to such amazing titles like Final Fantasy Series, Tales of Series, Elder Scrolls Series, or the Dragon Age Series?
With E3 on June 5th, I feel it's time to do some reflection on all the games I am looking forward to seeing there. The best part of E3 is the surprises that the different companies bring out, but there are always certain things one looks forward to more than others.

You have read all the books, you have watched the past seasons eight hundred times and yet you still can't get enough of the Game of Thrones series. Over the long days between episodes or the even longer months between seasons of HBO's hit television show us ravenous fans need something to fill the time in between our adventures in Westeros. One can only watch the past season of Game of Thrones so many times before you can start reciting lines before they are said.
It's the game that is on everyone's lips-the long awaited Grand Theft Auto 5. While the series has indeed been grand in the past, Rockstar really upped their game with this latest installment. It's not that there is anything overtly different in GTA 5, there's still sleek sports cars recklessly breaking every traffic law, brutal police being slaughtered by the thousands, and a slew of foul-mouthed snarky characters. The essence of Grand Theft Auto is all there, but this time Rockstar really collected everything good about the series and made sure it was better than ever before.
You know what sounds like a good idea? Taking one of the popular and entertaining Dragonball Z fighting games and placing it on the Kinect. Then making the game in the first person so you can feel like your favorite Z fighter. Well they have finally realized this and made it happen. I know it makes you just want to scream "Shut up and take my money!"
