Best Treadmill for Daily Running & Daily Use

By Edited Jun 5, 2014 0 0

If you plan on buying a treadmill that you will use for every day running - you want a machine that boasts a very decent overall package whereby i) it provides support for your joints, ii) has numerous running programmes & fitness schedules, iii) clearly provides you with all your fitness vitals (e.g. heart rate), iv) has a good amount of durability etc. The following is a showcase of such treadmills - ones that have been proven to tick pretty much every what-you-want-from-a-treadmill box -- hopefully you will find the right match from the selection but at the least you should get a better general idea as to what you are after.

The TR 1200i Folding Treadmill By LifeSpan

Starting with my favourite model - the TR1200i, which I regard to pretty much offer the complete package. First off, it offers a 2.5 HP motor that allows you to run up to speeds of 11 mph (on a spacious running deck 20 by 56 inches, accommodating those weighing up to 300 lbs) as well as allowing you to adjust incline levels from 0% to 15%. Moreover, at the center is the LCD console displays all the relevant diagnostics such as your heart rate, calories burned, distance travelled etc. as well as a range of fitness programs that have been designed by certified health professionals.

As it is foldable (folded dimensions: 39 by 66 by 33 inches) it obviously acts to be rather space conscious and somewhat practical too. But what, really makes the TR1200i stands out as being a great treadmill for daily running & frequent use is that it is i) very durable and ii) incredibly reliable as attested to by countless positive reviews & awards won (e.g. Treadmill Doctor Best Buy Award, Fitness Professor "Head of Class"... the list really does go on). In all, a really excellent treadmill that you definitely check out.

The F80 Folding Treadmill by Sole Fitness

Another great 'all-rounded' treadmill that is 'built to last' with a 'precision welded frame' (literally built like the tank of the treadmill world) that provides rigidity for heavy repeated use for all types of users (well up to an extensive 375 lb weight limit) & is literally packed with features from integrated cooling fans (to help keep you cool) to a huge a range of fitness programs (e.g. two heart programs, six targeted performance enhancing programs etc.) that can be accessed through its large 7.5 inch LCD workout display (that provides you through an integrated message board all your diagnostics during the workout as well as a summary once you're done).

It offers a (relatively speaking) -- huge -- running deck (22 by 60 inch) with a powerful 3.5 hp motor that offers a speed range from 0.5 mph to 12 mph (and like that of the TR1200i, a 0 to 15% incline level adjustment). Furthermore, with the 'high torque motor with flyhweels' built for heavy duty use -- means you have an ultra secure (vibration free) running deck & structure that allows it to operate much quieter than standard treadmills. Again, another great treadmill to consider if you are after something that offers pretty much -- 'just more of everything'.

The TR4000i Foldable Treadmill by LifeSpan

If you are really keen on the TR1200i, but are concerned that it doesn't offer enough in the way of support & cushioning for your joints -- then welcome to the TR4000i -- an upgrade to that of the TR1200i. Where the major improvements come in the running deck itself (many of the other features e.g. the LCD console, the folding capability, the fitness programs & design to a large extent remain the same) -- where instead of 6 elastomers it offers 8 (improving the biomechanical suspension) along with an extra 1/4 inch deck thickness (as well as increasing the length of the running deck by about 4 inches) all this allows for more support & protection for your joints (as well as decreasing fatigue, so you can go for longer).

The 9.27 Treadmill (with Ground Effects Technologyby Precor

This premium model is for those are who are really serious about running -- as it possesses literally state of the art technology & features installed. For instance, to protect your body from knees problems etc. & ensure minimum impact & strain is felt -- it utilises several highly regarded & unique (patented) innovations from Precor; 'ground effects impact control', 'shock absorbers' & 'stride support' -- which has been proven to significantly reduce potential harm as well as improve comfort whilst running.

It also offers precise readings & diagnostics (whereby the LCD console understands a designated description of you - e.g. age, sex, height, weight etc. & from that and the workout you are conducting as well as your heart rate - from the 'Smart Rate' - it can provide you with a far more precise estimate of calories burned etc. than that of a standard treadmill that bases it on the 'average' user) along with a range of carefully crafted fitness programs as well as the ability to create your own. This is a great model, but rather expensive so should be considered really for the more 'serious' & dedicated runner -- besides who can put a price on health?

ProImpact Treadmill Mat

Make sure that you also get hold of a protective treadmill mat to prevent damage to both your flooring as well as your treadmill. I recommend (like many others) that you get hold of something like the ProImpact treadmill mat, that is highly regarded & widely used across many health centres & gyms. Moreover, I would buy some lubricant for the deck treadmill as well to keep up with maintenance duties.
