We’ve simplified our login bar and we are gradually adding some other new features to make being a member easier and more rewarding.

Once you login up top now, a small bar will be attached to the top of the screen.  If you click ‘Open Nav Bar’, additional options will appear above it.

Any feedback would be great, as we are constantly trying to improve the site.

We had noticed that the site was running abnormally slow for logged in members for the last week or so.  That problem should now be fixed! So you should be able to get around at good speeds now!

Fixed a small bug in the related content section, where users without display pictures default graphic never showed up.

Using Drafts

In other news, there was a request via our feedback form to explain how to use the draft function better.  I’ve whipped one up for everybody to help out, but before you complain about my stuttering, I improved the video to get it out quicker so I apologize in advance for my fast talking and spuradic stutter.

We’ve been doing some testing with Kontera’s Content Links over the last few weeks and we’ve decided to go live with it across the site.

How will this benefit writers?

We are planning on using this new income source for two things.  Writer contests and increased overall site promotion.

What does this mean to you?

Not only are we planning on giving away some pretty cool prizes, the extra promotion we will be able to do will increase traffic to your content which means more money in your pocket from Google Adsense.

Hey everybody,

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Today we’ve added a feedback widget to the site where anybody can add features, bugs or other general feedback they would like to see.  If other people have had similar requests, you can vote on them.  We will do our best to listen to any suggestions you guys have.

If you are looking for the button, it is the blue feedback button on the left of the site.

After nearly eight months in beta, we’ve finally decided to launch a blog to let everybody know about any new features we release.

We could continue adding new features to the page, but how would anybody know they existed if we didn’t announce them anywhere aside from Twitter.

Feb 20th, 2009 News:

• Today we’ve received our 800th member, 200 more until 1000!
• We have been reorganizing the content pages to increase page views, as well as social bookmarking usage
• Articles now list the category your article is in beneath your Writer’s Bio
