How-To Check Your Blogger Blog's EU "Cookie" Notice (Pictorial Guide)

Just when you thought your Blogger blog was running smoothly, you get notification that makes you wonder. And it's fabulous that Google adds this notification for you "as a courtesy." But then, you read that you (yes, you) are responsible to see if it all works. If you are an Amazon associate, you have until August 31st, 2015 to declare that none of your sites are directed at children (under 13 years of age). Failure to complete this simple step means Amazon will withhold advertising fee payments. And on October 31st, 2015, Amazon will close the accounts of those who have not completed this online transaction. I took screenshots of each step (complete with simple instructions) so you will continue to receive your earnings from Amazon.

Paul Edmondson: Ban Sousababy From HubPages

The truth travels fast and far online. I was thrilled to learn that HubPages lost 1200 authors in one week. The main reason? The Edmondsons admitted to "editing" the content of abandoned (aka "inactive") accounts. Paul Edmondson confirmed: by posting your content on HubPages, you've granted them the right to modify your work (without your permission). I found out it would cost me a lot of money to see justice done. I asked for Amazon's help and now it's time for the Federal Trade Commission to step in.

So this is my opinion of why it's better to be a Clickbank Vendor rather than an affiliate. While as an affiliate you have less work to do, as a vendor you create the content up front and have a gigantic sales army ready to sell your product.

HubPages Updates HubScores: An Analysis

This week, HubPages announced a change to their HubScores. For the life of me, I couldn't find anything concrete or reliable about their new method to calculate it. Except, of course, that traffic is falling and they don't want writers to leave. Heck, even if your articles are so-so, HubPages wants (no, needs) you to stay. They are losing precious ad space and I don't think Google is pleased with HubPages right now.

Is HubPages Getting Desperate?

HubPages has done an about-face and is now featuring former Squidoo work that was unfeatured before. What on earth could be behind this latest business decision? When I pieced together what Paul Edmondson has stated with what writers have shared, I concluded that the HubPages Terms of Use is the reason why some questionable articles remain on this platform. The truth is that HubPages will probably never remove what provides them with 100 percent profit.

Oops, Paul Edmondson Forgot to Opt-Out of the NEW Writers Contract

It's getting harder to stomach all the excuses that HubPages is coming up with for abusing authors. Yes, abusing is the right word. I feel it's high time Hubbers took a look at what has transpired over the last few months to see how their rights have been infringed. Any opt-out policies that are currently in place need to be examined carefully. Often, these types of clauses are unenforceable and even illegal.

HubPages is Failing Writers: What You Need to Know

I finally understand the HubPages business model. Only the top content is meant to benefit HubPages, not the writer. But hey, after five Editor's Choice awards you'll get a fancy accolade on your profile. I've been wondering why Paul Edmondson isn't concerned about all the negative SEO attacks on authors (especially those who came from Squidoo). I guess subdomains and author identities are a dime a dozen to him.
