You don't have to reach your expiration date before you can experience a piece of heaven. Picture yourself sipping on an ice cold Pina Colada on a white sandy beach, before you commit to the same old annual camping trip. Plettenberg Bay is located in the Western Cape Province...

Twenty years ago South Africa was in a giddy state of munltnational euphoria under the leadership of our first black president. The late Nelso Mandela, like everybody else was free to visit beaches movie houses, bottle stores and ride on train carriages that had been reserved for "whites only." The former system of racial separation had a lot to do with the Afrikaans language. Today we visited the monument in Paarl. It is open to all races and pays tribute to them in the symbolism of the architecture.
Victoria Falls is on the Zambezi River that runs across Southern Africa. Further up, it joins the Chobe river at the Chobe Game reserve where we "Chilled out on the Chobe" in a previous Info Barrel safari. Now we continue along this river. Enjoy the show.
Spend a few days with us in the Chobe River Game Park. An experienced game spotter will drive us through the African bush so we can see animals galore. Luxuriate in a game lodge and enjoy the Chobe River at sunset. This is a personal story and also tells how healing herbs like olive leaves can help the local population. Watch my movie to see a real life "cat scan" with the airport cat - Maria.
A week end on a sheep farm with loads of tame animals on a stargazing trip to Sutherland is an unusual South African tourist experience. Yet it highlights the people, the terrain and hospitality of this country. On a guest farm called Blesfontein there is a private observatory. There are also tours around the local area and to the main observatory to see South Africa's Largest Telescope. (SALT) We loved all the tame animals on this unique farm. Hug the alpacas, sheep, Meer cats, horses and zebras. Enjoy ostriches, antelope, pigs and chickens. What a place!
You will have heard of the must-see Table Mountain Cableway although you may not know about the other spectacular sights in and around Cape Town, South Africa, a stunning Continent well worth a long flight.
