Admin (Ryan) Just Okay'd This Idea

When I started on InfoBarrel, I was denied a whole bunch of times before I finally became "automatically approved" to publish stuff.

And when I was automatically approved, I worried (to tell you the truth). I sort of relied on someone smarter than me to "catch" my mistakes.

So, for my blog this week, I wanted to run a Q & A with the mysterious article approvers. And the only way to do this was to run a bunch of questions by Ryan (who will ensure the approvers and/or himself) will provide you with "more complete" answers.

Perhaps we can get some solid examples too.

So, for anyone (and all) who wonder what their denial messages mean (or meant) put 'em out here in this thread. I will gather them up for SRS cat (admin).

That's a great idea!  Your blog is going to become a fabulous resource ... especially as they roll out InfoBarrel 4.0.

Especially if they want to see a hottie (like you in a Vegas showgirl ensemble). BTW, did you catch the latest bonus I'm pushing? (Voted Hottest Guest thread).

I had two articles denied within the first several that I attempted to publish - one had an Amazon product up too high in the article, and another I did a hyperlink wrong (I put something like "click here" hyperlinked, not knowing this was a no-no). And have had all other articles approved just fine. I think I'd published 13 articles total when I got pre-approved status.

So anyway, there are two possibilities that I encountered for having an article denied.

I saw, Rose, in another posting by Kevin or Ryan, don't remember which, noted that "there aren't as many pre-approved writers here as you'd think" (or something to that effect--I count myself lucky to be among that group).

Actually, I've always found that the reasons given for denial have been pretty clear. One problem I keep encountering, though, has been with some re-worked articles from my old Helium days.  When I have cut and pasted the text it has been rejected because the type is too small.  The problem is that when I proof read the article I can't see the difference in type (although maybe this is because I'm going old and blind!).  The only way I have found to fix this is to retype the entire article. Is there any way to:a.  figure out the font and text size from the "save and preview" view , or

b. do an easier "fix"

Excellent questions (everyone). I too, have had the "font changed" denial. I know it is Georgia (and either 12 or 14 pitch, I think).

I have a bunch of questions I've saved up from previous forum posts too.

Keep 'em coming.

Copy the text into Notepad, then copy and paste it from there. That should save you from retyping it.

Thanks, egdcltd. I'll try that next time.

I guess I could also change the font to Georgia before I cut and paste it, as well.

At the risk of being embarrassed I will say that I was denied on time for too many backlinks. Heck I'm so computer illeterate that I don't know exactly what a backlink is.

Last night I submitted a total of 10 questions to admin. I gathered up these questions plus some from other threads I've seen over the past year.

Once I get your answers, I'll publish the "interview." (It will be this weekend's InfoBarrel Author of the Week).

That will be helpful to so many people.  Thanks, Rose, for your blog!

Thanks everyone. And just to give SRS cat a little more time, I completed another InfoBarrel Author of the Week.
