Why Did This Title Get Denied?
I tried getting an article titled "Do You Want to Become a Journalist? Here's the Path You Need to Take in College" published, but I got the following reason for denial:
"Article has been denied because of grammar, spelling or formatting issues in the title. Ensure your title is properly capitalized."
Can someone help explain to me what is wrong with the title?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your title that I can see. Some reviewer must be asleep at the wheel.
The title IS a bit unwieldy, though--you should try to shorten it somewhat (for example): "Want to be a Journalist? Here's the College Work Needed" or something to that effect.
Resubmit it as is and see if someone else recognizes the title is okay. Or change it, up to you.
I've experienced this with my Legend of Dragoon article. I forgot to capitalize my article subtitles properly plus there were other issues I didn't catch during proof reading phases.
Sweltering was talking about the actual title, not subheaders, but I could see how that could jack you, too.
All of you seem so talented. Good luck
Maybe it's too wordy, so I'll try and resubmit it to see what happens =)
Let us know either way what happens, okay?
I've had this come up several times and it was solved when I capitalized literally every single word. That means articles as well, so:
"Do You Want To Become A Journalist? Here's The Path You Need To Take In College".
I would try that and see if there's any issue, but every time this has come up, I've went back and capitalized every word and it gets approved.
That may work, but it is wrong.
Articles and similarly unimportant words should not be capitalized--I'm guessing there's a reviewer who may not realize that.
I did the whole title-in-caps thing once in the "Why I Am Madly In Love With . . . " series, but then kept that incorrect format for the sake of consistency. I'd have to go back and edit 20 some-odd articles to get them all corrected to "Why I am Madly in Love with . . ."
I cannot say that something wrong with the title of the article.
