I pronounce the InfoBarrel forum DEAD
It took a good while to get my articles deleted. I was already posting them on my blog thinking the response was immediate only to discover they were still on the site. Not sure why they take so long considering this is one of their business outlets. Hopefully you can get this done and hopefully admin will check in with everyone to let us know what's going on with the site.
I have copied and pasted your post as a message to both Ryan and Kevin on Facebook. Let us know if you get any joy.
Ryan just got back to me. He has taken down Lebenlernen's account as requested. He also tole me that Kevin has been on vacation for a month, which is why we haven't heard anything from him. Not sure why I have to be the go between here, but there you go.
LOL Lesley they should be giving you a stipend for doing their admin work!
And even though Kevin must be back from vacation by now, he still hasn't got back to me or done anything about the frozen views.
This is quite depressing. It's nice to see some new articles on front page but the silence of admin isn't too good.
I am, however, in love with the new flag for flagging spam here in the forum.
Yes, the spam flag gets my vote, too!
How nice to wake up to a live forum thread that is not six months old!
I saw we kickstart this mo'-fo' and get it rockin' they way it once did!
I've been a bit loathe to upload any articles recently. It seems like a bit of a chicken and egg situation. I believe that great content still has the potential to attract visitors. However, if you notice, the content has gone down just a wee tad over the last while because the good writers all seem to have disappeared. Nobody really wants to write their heart out if the platform is going to let them down. I would love to get IB kick started again. It is a shadow of what it once was and I miss it!
We can fix that . . .
I know that I get visitors because I get sales here, even with my old content. I freshen it up with a new image or two for Pinterest, add new information, and I also add "Updated (month) 2018" so readers know this is not stale content.
I miss writing and have been putting my time into my own blogs and websites when time permits. My life is busier now, even with my kids being older. I also went back to eBay and spend time making up the money I used to make here and on other sites.
Seeing your article on the front page, Vic, put a smile on my face. I wish that the admins would at least pretend that they care a bit about IB, but those days are long gone. I believe the site is still around simply because they earn some kind of income from it from no effort. I would put new articles here if I felt that this site was being cared for by those who own it. I'm just afraid that my efforts would be moot. It is not about the money...IB is a place where I wrote articles that interested me at that time of my life.
I would like to go in and update some of my articles (some quite recent) but all I get is a spinning circle. Also, my complaint about views not being updated still hasn't been addressed so when we do get a rare earnings update, we have no way of knowing whether it's accurate. Last time I got $1 even for 3 months, which seems like a suspiciously even -ounded amount.
Well, I'm gonna keep plugging, just to see if anybody's watching (read; admin). Working on a new true crime thing right now!
I have a bunch of draf/potential IB things so maybe I should resuccitate something later. I'm working on a short story competition entry right now ...
Oopos. That should be resuscitate!
Does the internal PM system still work? How DO you get in touch with Admin these days to get something corrected?
The last couple of times I have reached Ryan through his Facebook account.
