Creative Writing Site
I've just come across this site called dacunha. They are looking for creative writing, so quite different from IB, and promising a 50/50 revenue share, based on site membership.
Has anybody heard anything about it?
No, I haven't heard of them before. I became so confused about their terms and conditions....apparently they sell your content at trade shows and media events, but the pay is based on the profits leftover after expenses? I've never seen a writing site with an online store. I am quite stumped about how it all works.
The site also mentioned using submitted content in real published books. The site itself seems to be for paying members, with the size of the membership determining payout, and they are looking not just for writing but for art, photography and video as well.
Also, the Creator Agreement mentions "one time payments" and then describes how these payments can increase to as much as $5000, although it is not exactly clear how that works.
I don't think they will sell the creator's content at trade shows as much as use the creator's content (in conjunction with the work of other creators) to produce multi media events (I read entertainment) which may then make money.
It's all very intriguing. I may just send them a test piece to see what happens.
I "sold" some articles through a site called Ghostwriters. It worked similar to Constant Content. Apparently that was their business plan. I filed to get my money over a year ago, but hasn't happened.
I might look into it and see how it goes.
@heanders. Please let us know what happens.
By the way the other site was GhostBloggers, not Ghostwriters.
