I'm building a website for poets, I've had this idea in the back of my mind for 6 years after being inspired by disgruntled poets on hubpages when I was a member there.

Its going to take me a couple of months to complete, but the domain name is amazing (I've just acquired it again after letting it go a few years ago), the community will be designed for creative types - none of this trying to squeeze poetry into commercial spaces.

It will be driven by algorithms which reward poetry which peers like (with a heart), users will be able to favourite poetry to a list, and there will be a field for any contributing poet to promote their website or book (possibly both).

Unlike many other poetry sites the users won't have to compete with legendary poets from 100 years ago for attention, it will be entirely user driven.

So.... how many of you are poets, or know poets who could do with a home?

This won't be a revenue sharing site however, have to be realistic here... poetry doesn't pay when it comes to adsense or other CPM/CPC networks. Users will be able to drive traffic to their poetry websites or books though, and the long term aim is for users to opt in their work for selection for published anthologies.

If you know any absent infobarrel poets, or otherwise orphaned poets from hubpages, squidoo, zujava or any other writing platform, please direct them to this thread. I will be giving more information soon and I'm going to need beta testers to give the platform a whirl.

Oh and it will be front-end submission! No messing around in a wordpress backend, it can all be done from the front (honestly, its impressive!).
