Heroin Addict

Heroin is an extremely addictive opiate drug, causing many first time users to become dependent. Ok then albeit, sometimes the heroin addict will have the will power to use the drug recreationally, most people experimenting with this dangerous drug will be hooked. The opiate causes a heroin "rush", or extreme feeling of pleasure and well-being. The downside is that the rush lasts a very short time and the heroin victim will stop at nothing to get high again.

When heroin overtakes the heroin addict, the only thing on their minds is the smack. This will debilitate clear and rational thinking, causing the mental and physical performance of the user to wane. It becomes difficult to hold a job, use their creative powers and function through everyday life.

The worst thing to do to a victim of heroin use is to sympathize with their condition and be understanding of their need of a fix. This enabling behavior teaches the heroine user that their addiction is justifiable and even permissible in their household. Tough love needs to kick into action with the friends and family to encourage the user into a detox center for treatment.

Heroin may be snorted and it can also be smoked; however, the most common form of use for the full blown heroin addict is by injection. The user will soon succumb to collapsed veins and may resort to injecting the drug between their toes and fingers. This latter stage of opiate addiction is the end of the line for the hapless victim who thought they would only try heroine one time. The insidious need to recapture the euphoric feeling holds the user hostage until they die, a tragic result approaching at breakneck speed.

Common symptoms of a heroin user include, but are not limited to, depression, crying, anxiety, irritability, paranoia, excessive sleepiness, vomiting, loss of appetite, lack of concentration skills, and withdrawal from loved ones, and a sense of helplessness. If you know a heroine user and want to help, you may suggest a detox clinic and remind them of all life could hold for them once they come clean.

In some cases, it is necessary to pull back from a relationship with a heroine user to hammer it into them that their drug of choice is not OK. The rational mind knows that heroin kills, and if you truly care about this person, you will never look the other way when they are high. Instead, encourage and support a treatment program and love them from a safe distance until they take charge of their life and kick the habit for good.

Good luck
