Next fold your square in half.
Then fold in half again in the opposite direction.
Now unfold. You will use these creases that you have made as a guide in the next few steps.
Next take one of the corners and fold it in to the center, using the creases that you just made to ensure that it is the exact middle.
Repeat this for the next corner
and the next one
Fold the final corner in to the center, creating a new smaller square.
Now flip and repeat the process of folding each corner in to the center of the square.
Finaly fold it in half.
and in half again. This will give the fortune teller its final shape.
Now unfold and you are finished.
Now you must colour in these four flaps different colours.
On the inside write 8 different numbers on the sections (usually the numbers 1-8).
Finally flip over the flaps and beneath the numbers write different fortunes (some good and some bad) then that's it.
To use it put your thumb and first finger from each hand in different protruding flaps and pinch it together.
Now have someone choose a colour. Open it in one orientation then shut it and open it in the other orientation and repeat. do this while spelling out the letters in the chosen colour.
when you run out of letters hold the fortune teller in the orientation that it landed so that different numbers are displayed.
Then do the same with a selected number.
Finally peel back the flap of another selected number and read the fortune.
