Santa Was Good to Me!
I’ve decided that this will most likely be my last InfoBarrel earning report. I’m afraid that since I started doing them, there have been about a dozen people consistently spinning my content and posting it on other revenue sharing sites and blogs. I might continue to do them if I break a record or have something really cool to share, but for the most part, this is it. As always though, if you need help with anything, just send me a pm and I’ll do my best to help you out.
Something New – Free Keywords
Most of you reading this know that I sold keywords for quite a while. I sold thousands of them in fact, to various people online. I quit this practice a while back since it was too much work for the return. I’ve had several people ask me if they could still purchase them, so I decided to come up with a new method to benefit everyone.
Starting now, if you sign up under my Wizzley or Seekyt referral link, I’ll provide you with free keywords to write on those sites. I understand people will want to use the keywords on sites like InfoBarrel and some others as well and that’s not an issue, so long as the writers post on the referred sites as well. If there are other sites you have your eyes on, just let me know and I might be able to add them to the list or make an exception. For now, I’m going to concentrate on these two online revenue sharing websites and see how this all pans out.
How it Works: After you sign up, send me a PM either on the site you registered with or on IB. Let me know what you want to write about with as much detail as possible, and I’ll send you 5-10 different keyword strings. As long as you post at least some of them on the referred site, I’ll continue to supply you with more as you request them. Need help with LSI words for the keywords you get? Just ask.
Keywords are actually a lot of work, so I feel this is a good compromise to make. I’ll make a few bucks over the long haul and you’ll get free keywords in the niche of your choice. Plus, you’ll be able to diversify your online earnings on some other sites, which we can all agree is a good thing.
My Earnings for December, 2011
Here are some pretty fun stats and numbers that I think most will enjoy. December was a pretty good month for me. I cannot wait to see what springtime brings.
AdSense Income: I finished up right about $2480 on IB in December. It was a good month overall and I have nothing to complain about. I wish every month was like this, but I know it will dip down a little in January. Last January was good, but not quite was the Christmas season was.
Total Income: Amazon was about $150 for me. I was honestly expecting a little more, but I’ll take what I can get. Not that many of my articles are true retail product type articles, so I’ll probably never be an Amazon guru. Chitika was good to me this month; I ended up a little over $180. This puts my total at about $2,800, which is about the same as November.
Cherry Articles: I had six articles pass the $100 mark this month on InfoBarrel. Interesting, I had a total of 10 articles do at least $70. I was surprised a little by the latter and hope that will continue moving forward.
Best Earning Article: The article that will not be named continues to bring in the dough, despite not getting a ton of views. It was about a $300 month for that one article. If only they could all perform like that.
Unusual Trends: My ecpm (RPM or whatever they want to call it now) was very low. I expected this since many of my Christmas articles get great views, but produce low CTR’s. It was still kind of odd to see the low rates when I logged into my account.
Christmas Articles: I had 4 Christmas related articles make at least $40 for the month. I’m not really big on seasonal content, but it did provide a nice boost.
Great Earnings From Other Sites: Seekyt has become my second favorite site. I blew past $300 there this month and most of my articles aren’t seasoned yet. I fully anticipate this to be a $500 per month site in the very near future. I also turned off the HPads on HubPages and saw a very nice increase, finishing up at about $200. Unfortunately, I didn’t turn off those pesky HPads until the 5th or 6th, so it could have been better. Xomba was down a little and Posturown held steady from last month.
Outlook for 2012
For InfoBarrel: I’m not sure how big this site will get over the next year, but I have to suspect it will continue to get bigger. I doubt IB will crack 2k on Alexa or anything, but with the content added, the quality standards, the spam limitation, and all the pesky rules some of us don’t like at times, the year should be fruitful for anyone that sticks with it.
Publishing Goals: Unless I get a wild hair up my arse or my position gets cut at my “real” job, I probably won’t submit more than 10-15 articles per month on InfoBarrel. I love the site and it’s been great to me, but I want to continue to diversify and find some other sites that can boost my earnings. Of course, with me, you never know.
Monetary Goals: I want to crack $3,000 on IB one of these months. I have a feeling I might have to wait for November, but it’s what I ultimately want to see. Not that it will be a really big deal, but it will be self-satisfying. At the risk of sounding like a conceded jerk, I “predicted” this with IB. No, I didn’t know exactly what the future would hold, but I could tell by the content rules and the preapproval process this site had awesome potential for the future. The recent Panda granny slap the other rev sharing sites felt wasn’t felt here. Some of the other sites still haven’t learned their lesson – anyone can publish anything at any time on many of them to this day. I personally hope there are 5 more Panda updates this year. My content on IB will only benefit.
